Our Mission in Sanctuary
Is to provide safety, stability, and a fresh start for those in greatest need, regardless of their background, struggles, or difficult beginnings in life.
Here, these gentle giants and faithful companions are offered the opportunity to heal, learn, and regain their trust. We emphasize attentive care, considerate rehabilitation, and everyday acts of kindness that contribute to significant changes. With your assistance, we can keep fostering an environment where these remarkable animals can thrive, feel appreciated, and ultimately receive the comfort and affection they have always been entitled to.

Commitment to Rescue
Chrystal and her husband Jerry founded Safe Hands Sanctuary out of pure love and dedication to make this world a more loving and compassionate place. Chrystal is a second-generation animal rescuer who saved her first horse at just 14 years old, carrying forward a legacy of advocacy instilled by her mother, who remains active in rescue work today. Together, Chrystal and Jerry have rescued and fostered countless dogs, cats, and other animals, including years of hands-on work abroad in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. "What sets our sanctuary apart is our unwavering promise: the animals who come to us are not just rescued—they are given true sanctuary. Here, they live out their days at peace, protected, deeply loved, and honored for the lives they’ve lived, right alongside us".
Our Location
Safe Hands Sanctuary is situated in southeastern Arizona, at the foot of the Coronado National Forest, offering a tranquil refuge for rescued animals in need of care and rehabilitation.
